Polish Youth Politician's Hospital Employment Under Scrutiny Amid High Earnings Reports

Dawid Kacprzyk, who previously led the youth wing of Poland's Civic Platform (PO) party, worked at the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Częstochowa from December 10, 2024, to January 31, 2025. He was undergoing specialization training in anesthesiology and intensive care.

The hospital confirmed that Kacprzyk was compensated according to the prevailing salary scale, adhering to the law on minimum wages for certain healthcare workers. His contract was terminated by mutual agreement at his request on January 31, 2025. Kacprzyk's specialization was pursued in a non-resident capacity, with seven other doctors undertaking resident training in the same department.

The hospital's management is also conducting an internal audit on the same matter.

Allegations suggest that Kacprzyk, in his role as coordinator of the emergency department at the Southern Hospital in Warsaw, may have facilitated preferential treatment for Civic Platform politicians, admitting them without waiting and fast-tracking their examinations. This controversy has led to the resignation of the Southern Hospital's leadership and supervisory board, as well as two deputy mayors of Warsaw.
