Politeknik Ungku Omar hosts engaging Sumo Robot workshop for STAR students

The Department of Information and Communication Technology (JTMK) at Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) in Ipoh recently hosted a 'Basic Sumo Robot Workshop: From Code to Combat'. The event, organized by the IoT and Robotics Club in collaboration with the Digital Technology Club, brought together talented students from Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR) Ipoh.

The workshop provided students with a hands-on opportunity to explore the world of robotics, electronics, and programming. Under the 'From Code to Combat' theme, participants were guided through the process of building, programming, and testing their own sumo robots in a simulated competition environment. This practical approach aimed to foster a deeper understanding of STEM principles.

Beyond technical proficiency, the program emphasized the development of crucial soft skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork. The engaging and impactful learning atmosphere was designed to be fun while reinforcing STEM education. The sessions were led by instructor Nur Syuhada Mohamad and facilitators from PUO's JTMK clubs, showcasing PUO's commitment to digital TVET education in Malaysia.
