Poll: 64 Percent of Americans Dissatisfied With Trump’s Performance

Dissatisfaction with Donald Trump remains high among US voters, according to a University of Massachusetts Amherst poll. Sixty-four percent of respondents said they were dissatisfied with his performance as president, while 32 percent said they were satisfied and 3 percent had not decided.

The poll surveyed 1,000 US adults from Aug. 21 to 26. It asked about the Trump administration’s performance, its handling of the war with Iran and economic issues including inflation.

Trump’s Iran policy drew particularly negative views. Only 26 percent supported the US attack on Iran, while 54 percent opposed it. Fifty-five percent said the decision to attack had been a mistake, compared with 27 percent who disagreed.

Views of Trump’s management of the conflict were similarly unfavorable. Just 25 percent said he had handled the war well, while 68 percent described his performance as “not too good” or “not good at all.”

The poll indicated that opposition to the administration’s Iran policy had persisted. In March, 63 percent of respondents said they disapproved of Trump’s approach to Iran. The latest results showed that dissatisfaction remained as Washington’s policy toward Tehran entered a tougher phase.
