Poll Shows Governor Fábio Mitidieri Leading Sergipe Gubernatorial Race with 40% Support

Current Governor Fábio Mitidieri (PSD) is leading the race for Sergipe's governorship in the 2026 elections, according to a new poll released by Quaest. Mitidieri garnered 40% of voter intentions, significantly ahead of his closest rival, Valmir Francisquinho (Republicanos), who secured 28%.

This marks the first survey conducted by Quaest for the state's gubernatorial election. The poll also identified other candidates trailing behind. Ricardo Marques (PL) received 5% of intentions, while Taty Cristina de Jesus (Democracia Cristã), Dr. Helton (PSOL), and Emanuel Cacho (PSD) each garnered 1%. A notable portion of respondents, 7%, indicated blank or null votes, and 17% remained undecided.

In the contest for the two Senate seats in Sergipe, the poll revealed a close race. Delegado André David (Republicanos) and Rogério Carvalho (PT) are currently tied, each with 11% of voter intentions for the first seat. André Moura (União Brasil) follows with 9%, and Delegado Alessandro (MDB) has 8%. Other candidates, including Eduardo Amorim (Republicanos) and Rodrigo Valadares (PL), are also vying for support.

Respondents indicated 13% for blank or null votes for the Senate, with 22% undecided. The Quaest survey involved 804 face-to-face interviews conducted between August 23 and 26, carrying a margin of error of three percentage points. The poll was commissioned by Grupo Globo and registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
