Polytron Holds Fox 200 Design Competition for Students

Indonesian electric vehicle manufacturer Polytron is engaging young minds with its Fox Berkreasik Design Competition, inviting students nationwide to reimagine the body design of its Fox 200 electric motorcycle. This initiative seeks to foster a closer connection between the younger generation and electric mobility through creative endeavors.

The competition challenges participants to produce original visual designs for the Fox 200's bodywork. A panel of art and automotive community experts will judge the submissions. This move comes as interest in electric vehicles surges among Indonesian youth, with a Lokadata survey indicating that approximately 75 percent of respondents aged 18-34 are considering switching to electric vehicles within the next five years.

Ilman Fachrian Fadly, Head of Group Product EV 2W at Polytron, highlighted that beyond technology and price, the acceptance of electric vehicles as a lifestyle choice is a key challenge. "The transition to electric vehicles among young people will be more massive if the products can enter and become part of their daily lives. We want to show that electric motorcycles are not just a means of transportation, but can also be a medium of expression," he stated.

Alongside the design contest, Polytron is organizing creative workshops led by visual artist Hard13. These sessions will equip participants with insights into the creative process, idea development, and visual techniques aligned with current design trends. Hard13, along with scooter community advocate Adega, will also be part of the judging panel, evaluating entries not only on aesthetics but also on originality and relevance to the vehicle's character. Polytron chose the Fox 200 as the competition's base due to its ample body surface, allowing for diverse design explorations, and its target demographic of young users needing daily mobility.
