Prabowo Eyes Trans-Sumatra Rail Link from Lampung to Aceh

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is pushing for a significant expansion of the nation's railway infrastructure, ordering the development of new hubs in Sumatra and Kalimantan. This initiative aims to accelerate the growth of Indonesia's rail network, aligning it with the country's burgeoning economic potential and fostering development across the vast archipelago.

The president's focus on transportation infrastructure extends beyond these new hubs. He recently tested the "Nusantara Explorer," a new luxury sleeper train designed to enhance tourism services. This aligns with a broader vision for improved connectivity and premium travel experiences within Indonesia.

Beyond infrastructure, Prabowo is also engaging with other national priorities. He plans to offer substantial incentives, up to Rp20 billion, for Indonesia's cleanest cities, emphasizing waste management and environmental cleanliness. Simultaneously, he has acknowledged the escalating Middle East conflict as a serious global crisis posing threats to many nations, including Indonesia.
