President Abinader’s weekly agenda adds invited journalists

President Luis Abinader’s weekly television program is changing its format after just one edition. LA Agenda Semanal will invite journalists to attend beginning Monday, when the discussion will focus on infrastructure and public works.

The government said several journalists have already confirmed their attendance and that the invitations are intended to continue each week. The program brings Abinader together with officials responsible for a selected area of government administration.

LA Agenda Semanal airs live every Monday at 5 p.m. on Radio Televisión Dominicana, channel 4, from the National Palace. Its first edition, on Aug. 24, focused on the 2026-27 school year and took place without journalists in the room.

The initial format presented the program as a thematic meeting between Abinader and officials connected to the chosen subject. The addition of journalists changes that arrangement while keeping the program’s focus on specific government sectors. Monday’s episode will examine infrastructure and public works, including roads, bridges and highways overseen by Minister Eduardo Estrella.

The presidency has separately said Abinader will continue holding open meetings with the press to answer questions on current national issues. The next news conference is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the National Palace.
