President Prabowo Sets Special Fuel Price for Fishermen with 30-200 GT Vessels at Rp 15,000 per Liter

President Prabowo Subianto has mandated a special fuel price of Rp 15,000 per liter for fishing business owners with vessels ranging from 30 to 200 gross tons. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced the decision following a limited meeting at the President's residence in Bogor.

"Because these fishing entrepreneurs need to be given a special price, it was discussed that the agreed price is Rp 15,000 per liter," Airlangga stated. He noted that non-subsidized fuel prices had previously climbed to Rp 21,300 per liter, while fishermen with vessels under 30 gross tons already receive subsidized fuel at Rp 6,800 per liter.

The average domestic production cost for diesel fuel is approximately Rp 18,600 per liter. The remaining difference of about Rp 3,600 per liter will be financed by the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP), not the state budget (APBN). "Therefore, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources will issue regulations related to this support, amounting to approximately Rp 3,600 per liter, to be funded by BPDP," Airlangga explained.

He added that BPDP has sufficient funds to support this policy. The government has established a quota of 400,000 tons for fuel under this special pricing scheme, intended to cover the next six months.

Therefore, Pak Menteri ESDM will issue regulations related to this support, which amounts to around Rp 3,600 per liter will be financed by BPDP.
