As we approach our 11th anniversary, our commitment to delivering unbiased news remains unwavering, even as we navigate unprecedented challenges. Threats, harassment, and intense scrutiny from various government departments have tested our resilience, yet our resolve has only strengthened.

Despite these hurdles, HKFP has continued to grow and innovate. Our coverage of significant events, from the 'patriots only' elections to the Jimmy Lai trial, has provided the public with crucial, trusted information in a landscape often clouded by state-controlled narratives.

Our financial situation, however, reflects the difficult reality of independent media operating under duress. A persistent deficit, exacerbated by a lengthy tax inspection, has strained our resources. This is why, on World Press Freedom Day, we appeal to our readers for support. Your contributions are not just donations; they are investments in the very principle of press freedom and the future of credible journalism in Hong Kong. Unlike outlets beholden to billionaires, conglomerates, or governments, HKFP answers only to Hongkongers, ensuring our reporting remains free from external influence and dedicated to serving the public interest.
