Prince Nico's Sons Conquer Enugu with Father's Music, Plan African Tour

Nico Jnr and Phils, sons of the legendary musician Prince Nico Mbarga, recently captivated Enugu with their father's iconic Rocafiljazz music. The performances, aimed at preserving their father's musical heritage, were met with enthusiastic crowds, marking a significant musical moment for the city.

The duo, accompanied by the newly formed Rocafiljazz band, delivered energetic renditions of their father's classic hits, including "Sweet Mother," "Simplicity," and "Good Father." Their performances took place at various venues across Enugu, culminating in a Saturday night show that left both fans and the band expressing mutual gratitude for the shared experience.

Nico Jnr, a skilled guitarist and singer, and Phils, a multi-instrumentalist, are committed to carrying forward their father's musical legacy. They emphasized their dedication to performance, stating they have honed their skills after their early education. The band expressed readiness for future invitations to share their music.

Their sister, Estelle, a key figure in the Nico Mbarga Sweet Mother Foundation, announced plans for an upcoming African tour. This tour aims to reintroduce Rocafiljazz music to audiences across West, East, and Central African countries, continuing the global reach of Prince Nico Mbarga's influential work. Prince Nico Mbarga, known for his best-selling song "Sweet Mother," died in a car accident in 1997.
