Protests continue in Kyiv demanding Fedorov's return to Defense Ministry despite Syrskyi's dismissal

Ukrainian protesters in Kyiv are vowing to continue their demonstrations, demanding the return of Mykhailo Fedorov to the position of Defense Minister. Their resolve remains firm despite President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's recent decision to dismiss Oleksandr Syrskyi, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Zelenskyy replaced Syrskyi with Mykhailo Drapatyi, commander of the Joint Forces, a military figure respected within Ukraine. The dismissal of Syrskyi was one of the key demands of the protesters, and it was seen as an attempt by the president to de-escalate public tensions, according to Kyiv Independent.

However, the protesters assert that their primary objective remains the reinstatement of Fedorov. "Well, get ready for Friday. We still have to bring Fedorov back," wrote protest organizer and veteran Dmytro Koziatynskyi on the platform X. He further stated to Kyiv Independent that if the authorities do not address their demand, organizers plan to initiate indefinite protests.

The ongoing demonstrations stem from dissatisfaction with the leadership of the military and the Ministry of Defense. These grievances are being voiced as Ukraine continues its defense against Russia's full-scale invasion.
