PSG draws with Manchester United, arrives winless for Super Cup

Paris Saint-Germain concluded their preseason campaign with a 1-1 draw against Manchester United in Gothenburg, Sweden. The match was their final tune-up before the UEFA Super Cup, the first title of the season.

The French champions, who also lost 3-0 to Mallorca earlier in the summer, were looking for improved performance. They started brightly, with Ibrahim Mbaye scoring in the second minute after a swift attacking move. However, their lead was short-lived.

Manchester United equalized in the 32nd minute through Bryan Mbeumo. The goal came after a mistake in PSG's build-up play allowed Amad Diallo to dispossess a defender and set up Mbeumo for the equalizer.

Despite the draw, PSG coach Luis Enrique found positives. "We saw good things, we started the match well, then we had normal errors at this stage of the season. Everything is positive, no injuries, we are already thinking about the Super Cup final," he told PSG media. The team will next face Aston Villa, the Europa League winners, on August 12 for the Super Cup.
