Puma Sighted in Mazovia; Authorities Urge Caution, Forest Avoidance

Authorities in Poland have issued a warning after a puma was sighted in the Gołymin-Ośrodek municipality, located in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship.

The wild animal was reportedly seen near the village of Osiek-Wólka. In response, local crisis management officials have appealed to residents of Osiek-Wólka, Osiek-Aleksandrowo, Osiek Górny, and Stare Garnowo to exercise extreme caution. They are strongly advised to avoid entering forests and wooded areas in the vicinity.

In the case of noticing the animal or direct threat, immediately notify the services by calling the alarm number 112.

Particular attention should be paid to the safety of children. The Powiatowe Centrum Zarządzania Kryzysowego in Ciechanów also released a statement, emphasizing that individuals should not approach the animal or attempt to capture or drive it away if sighted.

Residents are instructed to immediately contact emergency services by dialing 112 if they see the puma or feel directly threatened. Authorities are requesting the public to remain calm, follow official recommendations, and share this information with those who may not have access to the alerts.
