Luciano Herrera, who joins from Argentina's Newell's Old Boys, declared he "did not come to stroll" and is eager to win titles with Pumas. Víctor Arteaga, a new addition to the squad, celebrated his first goal for Pumas in their Apertura 2026 victory against Toluca. This marked his debut goal in Mexico's top football division. "You can never say no to Pumas. I know how much it represents here in Mexico," Arteaga commented, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute to the team's dynamic play.

Antonio Sancho, the club's sporting vice president, confirmed the team's objective remains to "seek, fight, and achieve that championship." He indicated that while the team is currently satisfied with its roster, including new additions like Cristian Calderón, Sebastián Córdova, Herrera, and Arteaga, they are not ruling out further reinforcements before the transfer window closes. "We are calm. What will happen? I don't know. There's a lot of time left until the market closes," Sancho said.
