At least 1,000 Qatari supporters have arrived in Vancouver for the Canada-Qatar match, with their airfare and hotel stays generously covered by the Qatari government. This significant fan contingent is part of a broader initiative by the Qatar Football Association designed to rally behind the national team during the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

Local media reported that these fans traveled on charter flights and are staying in five-star hotels within Vancouver, a city known for its high cost of living. The funding for these arrangements comes directly from the emir of Qatar, Tamim Ben Hamad Al Thani, underscoring the nation's commitment to supporting its team on the global stage.

The comprehensive support program extends beyond just this match. It includes provisions for flights, accommodation, and internal transportation for fans to follow Qatar's initial three group stage games. These matches are scheduled to take place across three different cities: San Francisco, Vancouver, and Seattle.

Qatar has also secured twelve hotels for its supporters: five in San Francisco, four in Vancouver, and three in Seattle, where the team will conclude its group stage play against Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 24. Additionally, Qatari students residing in Canada and the United States have been invited to attend all three of the team's matches.
