Rahim Omar clarifies rent arrears issue

Malaysian actor Rahim Omar has clarified his situation regarding two years of unpaid rent, attributing the arrears to a difficult period where he lost acting work for six to seven months, resulting in a RM7,000 debt.

Omar explained that he received RM800 in zakat aid, but still needed an additional RM300 to cover living expenses, which was a struggle at the time. He expressed that his financial situation has since stabilized.

He revealed that he had attempted to meet with the landlord to arrange installment payments but claimed the landlord was arrogant and uncooperative. Omar stated he waited for a better time to address the issue, especially when he had secured new work.

Despite the landlord's public complaints, Omar stated he was not disappointed, viewing the situation as a test from God. He mentioned that he has since moved out of the property after being asked to leave and received help from a benefactor.

Omar is now focused on rebuilding his finances, which he said suffered a RM500,000 loss he kept private. He is confident he will resolve the rental issue, emphasizing that he has no intention of evading his responsibilities.
