TVET nurtures creative, innovative individuals, says Perlis Raja

Perlis Raja Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail emphasized the vital role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in cultivating a highly skilled, creative, and innovative workforce ready for future challenges. He stated that innovation is no longer optional but a fundamental requirement for national progress and competitiveness in a constantly evolving world.

The Raja of Perlis highlighted the transformative impact of technologies like artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, and digitalization on the current employment and industrial landscape. He expressed his hope that a culture of innovation would be continuously fostered among polytechnic staff and graduates, emphasizing that innovation involves not just generating new ideas but translating them into practical solutions that benefit society and contribute to national development.

Speaking at the convocation ceremony for polytechnics and community colleges in the Northern Zone, which saw 6,104 graduates from Perlis, Kedah, and Penang, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin also advised graduates against neglecting values such as knowledge, skills, noble ethics, high integrity, and patriotism in their pursuit of excellence. He stressed that outstanding graduates are judged not only by their expertise but also by their honesty, trustworthiness, and character. He encouraged them to move forward with confidence, utilize their acquired knowledge and skills, and strive to be beneficial individuals to their communities, states, and the nation.
