Rain and Thunderstorms Expected Across Lithuania

Residents of Lithuania are bracing for a day of mixed weather, with rain expected across many areas and the possibility of thunderstorms, especially in the southwestern parts of the country.

The wind will be a notable factor, starting from the southeast but rapidly changing direction as the evening approaches. Speeds are anticipated to reach a noticeable 7-12 meters per second.

Despite the chance of precipitation, daytime temperatures are expected to be quite pleasant, hovering between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. However, coastal areas, specifically the Curonian Spit, will experience cooler conditions, with temperatures around 17-19 degrees Celsius.

Looking ahead to the night, a cold atmospheric front will continue to move across the country, bringing short-lived rain to most regions. Thunderstorms may accompany the rain in some areas. The wind will persist from the southeast and south, blowing at a moderate pace of 5-10 meters per second. Temperatures will remain refreshingly cool, between 11 and 16 degrees Celsius, due to significant cloud cover.

Friday's forecast indicates that a small cyclone near Lithuania will bring considerable rain to nearly the entire country, though it will be brief and less pronounced in the west. Thunderstorms are also possible from larger, more active clouds. The southeast to south wind will strengthen to 7-12 meters per second, while thermometers will show a pleasant 21-26 degrees Celsius, with coastal areas remaining cooler at 17-20 degrees Celsius.
