RANS Entertainment goes public, signaling entertainment industry's economic power

PT RANS Entertainment Indonesia Tbk officially became a publicly traded company, listing its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Friday, July 10. The company will trade under the stock code RANS, marking its debut as the seventh listed entity on the IDX in 2026.

Nagita Slavina, CEO of RANS Entertainment Indonesia, highlighted the significance of the listing. She stated that it serves as proof that the entertainment industry has evolved beyond merely producing content. According to Slavina, creativity is now recognized as a core asset that can lead to a public company trusted by the Indonesian people. She emphasized that the entertainment sector has become a crucial driver of the national economy.

Slavina further elaborated that the entertainment industry's role extends far beyond providing viewership. It actively creates employment opportunities, stimulates micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and promotes growth in tourism, transportation, and regional economies. She described entertainment not just as consumption but as a "new economic infrastructure." Examples cited include how a film can generate revenue not only from ticket sales but also by driving business for hotels, restaurants, and tourist destinations. Similarly, music concerts boost transportation, trade, and MSME activities, while animated characters can be developed into licensed products and tourist attractions.

Saidu Solihin, Director of Company Valuation at the IDX, acknowledged RANS Entertainment's listing as the beginning of a new responsibility as a public company. He stressed the importance of maintaining good corporate governance, compliance, and transparency in information disclosure to the public.
