In a highly unusual and complex medical case, a 14-year-old girl has successfully undergone surgery to remove a massive 4.3kg ovarian tumor. Doctors at the Central Obstetrics Hospital performed the delicate surgery, managing to completely excise the large tumor while also addressing a smaller, approximately 8cm benign cystic teratoma in the left ovary. If the tumor has a malignant nature and ruptures during surgery, cancer cells can spread throughout the abdominal cavity, increasing the risk of recurrence and requiring chemotherapy after surgery. Conversely, when the tumor is completely removed, the possibility of not needing chemotherapy is higher, reducing the treatment burden for the patient.

He explained that if an malignant tumor were to rupture during surgery, cancer cells could spread throughout the abdomen, necessitating chemotherapy and increasing the risk of recurrence. However, by successfully removing the tumor whole, the need for chemotherapy may be avoided, significantly reducing the burden of treatment for the patient.
