Receptomat Operator Faces Charges for Misleading Patients in Poland

Poland's Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has leveled accusations against the operator of online medical consultation services Receptomat.pl and l4.pl. The authority alleges that the company misled consumers about the nature of its services, particularly concerning online medical consultations and prescription issuance.

Numerous patients have come forward with complaints detailing their negative experiences. These grievances include a lack of direct contact with physicians, difficulties in obtaining refunds after prescriptions were denied, and overall limited communication channels. Such issues raise concerns about the quality and transparency of the telehealth services provided.

Prezes UOKiK, the president of the consumer protection office, has formally charged the operator with deceptive practices. The investigation focuses on whether patients were adequately informed about the consultation process and the conditions under which prescriptions are issued.
