Researchers Test Traffic Management Robot in Bratislava

Bratislava, Slovakia – A unique technological demonstration took place on Komenského Square in Bratislava, where researchers showcased a robot designed to manage urban traffic. This initiative, a joint effort between the Slovak University of Technology (STU) and specialists from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, represents a forward-thinking approach to tackling the complexities of modern city transportation.

The core objective of this research, as explained by Marek Galinski from STU's Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies, is to explore the potential of various robotic forms in coordinating the movement of cars, pedestrians, cyclists, and scooter users. This year's demonstration builds upon the success of a similar event held last year, which featured a robotic police officer. The current project integrates humanoid robotics and a robotic dog, highlighting the diverse applications of robotics in public services.
