Retired Constable Found Dead in Bangladesh Haor After Going Missing While Collecting Grass

A tragic discovery was made in the haor area of Rajnagar upazila in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh, where the body of a missing 75-year-old retired police constable was found. Jamshed Mia, a resident of Tulapur village, had gone missing the previous afternoon while out collecting grass for his cattle.

His body was recovered from the Kawadighi haor around midnight, nearly 12 hours after he was reported missing. According to Md Ali Hossain, the officer-in-charge of Rajnagar Fire Station, Mia had left his home by boat on Thursday afternoon. It is believed he fell into the water near the Majher Band area.

When Mia failed to return home, his family and local villagers initiated a search. They discovered his empty boat floating in the haor and subsequently alerted the fire service. A diving team from the Rajnagar Fire Station conducted a search until approximately 11:00 PM but could not locate him.

Later that night, local residents spotted Mia's body floating in the water and managed to recover it. The incident has cast a shadow over the community, highlighting the potential dangers associated with activities in the haor region.
