Robber referred to urgent criminal trial after quintuple homicide in Fifth Settlement

Egyptian prosecutors have ordered an urgent criminal trial for a man accused of brutally murdering a family of four in New Cairo. The suspect confessed to the premeditated killings after a 48-hour investigation by the Public Prosecution.

The investigation began after the discovery of the bodies of a man, his wife, and their two daughters, who had been reported missing. Prosecutors inspected the crime scene, examined the bodies, and ordered autopsies. They also reviewed CCTV footage and requested police investigations, which identified the perpetrator as a friend of the victims.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to killing the husband over a refused loan, stealing his key, and disposing of his body. He then lured the wife and daughters to the Katameya area, falsely claiming the husband had been in an accident, before fatally shooting them. He intended to rob the home but was prevented by a building guard.

The suspect reenacted the crime, and his confession aligned with witness statements, CCTV footage, and mobile tower data. Forensic reports confirmed the authenticity of the surveillance footage and corroborated autopsy findings. The Public Prosecution has ordered the suspect held in custody pending his urgent trial.
