Roger Federer Receives Hall of Fame Ring at 2026 US Open

Roger Federer returned to Arthur Ashe Stadium to collect a symbol of a career that already includes 20 Grand Slam titles. During the 2026 US Open, the Swiss former world No. 1 received his International Tennis Hall of Fame ring from Kim Clijsters.

The ceremony came two days after Federer’s official induction in Newport, where he entered the Hall of Fame alongside former American player and broadcaster Mary Carillo. Federer put on the ring and raised his hand for the crowd before lifting a fist to loud cheers.

“It’s great to be back in New York,” Federer said, according to the ATP and Antara. He also reflected on the people and sport that shaped his career, saying, “I’ve had the chance to look back at all the amazing people who helped me along the way, the sport I love so much, and what it has given me.”

Federer won 103 tour-level titles and spent 310 weeks ranked No. 1 by the ATP. His appearance at this year’s US Open also marked a return to the hard-court Grand Slam after his last appearance there as a player in 2019. He took part in an exhibition match last week, playing one set against Andy Roddick before teaming up with John McEnroe against Roddick and Andre Agassi.
