Donyell Malen Leads Roma to a Four-Goal Rout at Lecce

Donyell Malen scored twice as AS Roma overwhelmed Lecce 4-0 at the Stadio Via del Mare, sending an early warning to their Serie A rivals.

Roma needed only four minutes to take the lead. Lecce defender Kialonda Gaspar failed to clear the ball, allowing Malen to collect it and beat goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone. The Dutch forward struck again in the 23rd minute, finishing a move involving Matias Soulé and Wesley Franca.

Soulé added Roma’s third goal two minutes later. Falcone saved his first shot, but the rebound returned to Soulé, who converted from close range. Roma controlled the match through halftime as Lecce struggled to escape the pressure.

The visitors continued attacking after the break. Rodrigo Mora completed the scoring in the 65th minute, only five minutes after entering the game, with a shot into the right corner from Gianluca Mancini’s pass.

The result gave Roma six points from two matches and first place on goal difference. Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus and Lazio also have six points. Lecce remained 13th with three points from two games.
