ROP wins first place in International Open Tactical Shooting Championship

The Royal Oman Police Special Operations team has secured first place in the overall standings of the International Open Tactical Shooting Championship. The competition, held from August 20-24, 2026, at the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes, Chechnya, brought together 11 elite teams from special forces units, military, and security tactical units across Chechnya, the Russian Federation, Belarus, and several Asian and Gulf countries.

The championship featured 11 distinct tactical competitions and events. These challenges encompassed a range of skills, including shooting proficiency, field operations, and various scenarios designed to simulate real-world operational conditions and tasks relevant to special operations and tactical teams.

After intense competition throughout the championship days, the Royal Oman Police team demonstrated outstanding performance across multiple events. Their consistent success ultimately led them to clinch the top spot in the overall standings, earning them several awards and trophies. They notably outperformed other participating international military and security agencies.

The victory highlights the advanced training and tactical capabilities of the Royal Oman Police's Special Operations team on an international stage.
