Rp1 Trillion Cattle Farm Project to Begin Construction in Late 2026

A new integrated cattle farming center, the Ciangir Cattle Farm, will be built in Tangerang Regency, Banten, to bolster Jakarta's beef supply and enhance food security. Perumda Dharma Jaya, a regional-owned enterprise, will manage the 20-hectare facility, which is expected to begin construction in November 2026 with an investment of around Rp1 trillion.

Raditya Endra Budiman, the President Director of Perumda Dharma Jaya, stated that the development is a follow-up to the approval for using Regional Owned Assets from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Asset Management Agency. The project aims to optimize regional assets to strengthen the food supply chain, particularly for beef. "This area will be managed by Perumda Dharma Jaya as a modern cattle fattening center that supports the availability of beef supply for the people of Jakarta," Raditya said.

The integrated farm will include fattening pens, quarantine facilities, a slaughterhouse, and fodder land, all managed using modern systems to boost efficiency and productivity. The facility will also ensure its own feed supply through technology to maintain cattle quality and productivity. Beyond strengthening food supply, the project is expected to create local economic impacts through job creation, fodder partnerships, and empowerment of local businesses.

Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, emphasized that the land, owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, will be developed for food security, encompassing livestock, fisheries, and agriculture. He clarified that the area will not serve as an alternative site for the Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Treatment Facility (TPST). "This place will not be, as people might think, an alternative location for Bantar Gebang, not at all," Pramono stated. The focus remains solely on developing the food sector.
