'Rural Dhofar 2026' Exhibition to launch tomorrow to empower rural women in Salalah

The "Rural Dhofar 2026" exhibition is set to open its doors at Atin Square in Salalah, Oman, with the primary goal of empowering rural women economically and promoting the diverse range of Omani products to a wider market. This initiative is organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Dhofar governorate, in collaboration with the Office of the Governor of Dhofar and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

As part of the Khareef Dhofar Festival, the exhibition will run until August 15th, serving as a vital marketing platform. It will bring together more than 60 participants, including female entrepreneurs and productive families from across Oman. Attendees will have the opportunity to discover and purchase a variety of goods, such as agricultural and fishery products, processed foods, honey, dates, and natural cosmetics, all reflecting the quality and richness of Oman's rural offerings.

The exhibition's objectives extend beyond mere sales. It aims to create direct marketing opportunities for rural products, thereby increasing the income of participating families and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Furthermore, it seeks to underscore the significant role rural women play as active contributors to food security and sustainable economic development within the Sultanate.

Complementing the marketplace, the event will feature a comprehensive program of specialized workshops. These sessions will cover crucial topics like enhancing the quality and added value of rural products, adopting sustainable production methods, understanding the "Rural Product" financing program, and recognizing the vital role of women in achieving food security. These workshops are designed to facilitate knowledge transfer, build the capacities of female entrepreneurs, and foster the growth of their businesses, ultimately contributing to the development of rural communities and economic diversification.
