Samoa Boosts Overseas Medical Treatment Fund with Additional $2 Million

The Government has passed another $2 million for Health treatments after the $10 million plus that was allocated in our budget has now been almost finished. This shows the amount of money our Government spends on Health by sending people for treatment in distant countries.

Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa highlighted the substantial investment, noting that the initial $10 million allocated for the 2025/2026 fiscal year has been further bolstered. This demonstrates a proactive approach to healthcare, acknowledging that the cost is justified by the paramount importance of citizens' lives. The government's focus is not solely on treatment abroad but also on enhancing domestic healthcare capabilities.
