Sanitation worker killed by garbage truck in Manavgat

A tragic accident in Manavgat, Turkey, has resulted in the death of a sanitation worker. Yaşar Vural lost his life early Saturday morning when he was struck by a garbage truck he was working on.

The incident occurred near Çarıklı Park in the Ilıca neighborhood. The garbage truck, belonging to the Manavgat Municipality's Cleaning Affairs Directorate and driven by an individual identified as S.A., was reversing to empty a trash container. During this maneuver, the truck collided with Vural, who was also part of the cleaning crew.

Emergency health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel confirmed Vural's death, stating that he had been run over by the rear wheel of the garbage truck. Following preliminary investigations at the site, Vural's body was sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute.

The driver of the garbage truck, S.A., was taken into custody by the gendarmerie. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident is ongoing.
