Scooter rider dies after collision with car

A 65-year-old scooter rider died from severe injuries sustained in a collision with a car near Bad Staffelstein in the Lichtenfels district. The accident occurred on a state road in the afternoon.

The incident began when an 18-year-old female driver attempted to turn left. During this maneuver, she collided with the scooter rider. The impact caused severe injuries to the 65-year-old man, who later died at the hospital.

Following the initial collision, a 28-year-old female driver, who was traveling behind the scooter, could not brake in time. She crashed into the car that had collided with the scooter. Both women sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Authorities have called in an expert to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the crash. The road remained closed for several hours while investigations took place. The total damages are estimated to be in the thousands of euros.
