Seattle shooting: 15-year-old arrested, police seek second suspect

Seattle police have arrested a 15-year-old male suspect in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred at the Bite of Seattle food festival near the Space Needle. The incident, which took place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, resulted in three fatalities and left at least four people injured.

The arrested teenager is being held in juvenile detention and faces charges related to assault and weapons possession. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon. According to Seattle Police Assistant Chief Tyrone Davis, investigators believe the two suspects were shooting at each other. While one suspect remains at large, Davis stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Authorities have not released a description of the second suspect who is still being sought. The victims have been identified as two men, aged 19 and 44, and a 56-year-old woman. The injured included a 2-year-old child, who was reported in satisfactory condition, and three adults aged 23, 27, and 39, who have since been released from the hospital.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. on Sunday, during the final hours of the three-day festival. Police officers on site witnessed part of the incident, and one suspect surrendered at the scene while the other fled. A candlelight vigil was planned for Monday evening at the International Fountain in the downtown area.
