Second suspect arrested over fatal sword attack at Swedish school

Swedish authorities have arrested a second individual in connection with a violent sword attack at the Brinell school in Fagersta, central Sweden. The incident, which took place last Friday, tragically claimed the life of an 18-year-old student and left three others wounded.

The first suspect, identified in court documents as 18-year-old Liam Nebel, is currently in custody facing charges of murder and attempted murder. The second arrest involves a suspect accused of being an accomplice to murder and attempted murder. Prosecutors have not released further details regarding the second individual's alleged involvement.

Among the victims, a 17-year-old girl died from her injuries. Three boys were also wounded, with two of them, aged between 12 and 17, remaining in serious condition in hospital. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene following the attack.

While police initially stated they had no reason to suspect multiple perpetrators, the second arrest suggests a more complex scenario. Investigators are actively working to establish a motive for the attack. Media reports indicate that a TikTok account, allegedly belonging to the attacker, is under investigation. This account reportedly featured videos glorifying school attacks, and a final post showed a sword on a school bathroom floor.
