Second win for Fiji 7s

Fiji Airways Men's 7s demonstrated their prowess at the HSBC SVNS World Championship in Bordeaux, France, clinching their second consecutive pool victory. The Osea Kolinisau-coached side secured a decisive 26-12 win against Great Britain, showcasing a strong performance, particularly in the second half.

The match was closely contested at halftime, with Fiji leading 14-7. Filipe Sauturaga and Apete Narogo were instrumental in scoring tries during the first half. Narogo continued his impactful performance in the second half, scoring a crucial double that ultimately sealed the victory for Fiji. Another notable score came from George Bose, who ran 70 meters to score their third try after the break.

Despite a strong showing, Fiji faced adversity during the game. Narogo was sent off for a dangerous tackle, allowing Team GB to capitalize and narrow the scoreline to 14-21. However, Narogo's return to the field coincided with his second try, securing the final 26-12 win for Fiji.

In their earlier match against Kenya, Fiji also secured a 31-12 victory. The game saw an immediate start with Terio Tamani scoring just 15 seconds after kick-off. However, Fiji was reduced to six men early on after Kavekini Tanivanuakula was sent off. Despite these challenges, Fiji's resilience and skill, including a 100-meter try from Bose, secured their win. Fiji's next match is scheduled against South Africa.
