Serbian Police Urge Festival-Goers to Avoid Drunk Driving

As the 65th Dragačevski Sabor, the Guča Trumpet Festival, kicks off, Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) has issued a strong appeal to attendees regarding responsible alcohol consumption and driving.

The MUP strongly advised festival-goers to pre-plan their safe return journeys. The ministry emphasized that anyone who has consumed alcohol should refrain from operating a vehicle. Instead, they recommended arranging for a sober designated driver, utilizing taxi services, or opting for alternative transportation methods.

To enforce these safety measures, Milan Vitorović, assistant chief of the Traffic Police Administration, stated that every driver attempting to leave the festival zone will be subjected to a breathalyzer test. This measure aims to proactively prevent individuals who have been drinking from endangering themselves and others on the road.

The Guča Trumpet Festival, a renowned cultural event celebrating traditional brass music, runs from Friday, August 7th, to Sunday, August 9th. Police are committed to ensuring the safety of both the festival participants and the general public during the festivities.
