Serbian President Vučić to forgive man who threatened his life

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced his intention to forgive a man who threatened his life on social media, asserting that he does not feel threatened and believes the individual was manipulated.

I am sure that Saša Stojanović, who lives in Beloševac near Kragujevac, is not so bad and is not such a criminal as he wanted to present himself.

Vučić shared a video of the man, identified as S.S. from Kragujevac, on his Instagram profile, calling the content shocking. The president suggested that the man was not as malicious as he presented himself, but rather a victim of disinformation campaigns aimed at dividing Serbia. "I am sure that Saša Stojanović, who lives in Beloševac near Kragujevac, is not so bad and is not such a criminal as he wanted to present himself," Vučić stated, adding that he believes external actors used misinformation to target him and divide the country.

I am not a prosecutor or a judge and, as disgusting as this is to listen to, I will try to help him procedurally and legally.

Despite the gravity of the threats, Vučić emphasized his willingness to help the man procedurally and legally, not as president, but as someone who was targeted. He expressed a desire for reconciliation, stating that he looks forward to a future where the man will apologize directly, not as a president but as Aleksandar. Vučić also highlighted recent developments in Kragujevac, such as the new bypass and the success of the Stellantis factory, as reasons for optimism and unity.

I will say, and this certainly helps him in that process, that I do not feel threatened.

"I am always ready, even at the opening of the bypass, to offer him my hand and personally forgive him for everything he said, because I do not want to divide families, I do not want to divide Serbia, I want us all to be united around the same table and love for the homeland," Vučić concluded. Serbian police have arrested the 55-year-old man in connection with the threats.

I look forward to the fact that in half a year or a year he will not say 'excuse me, Mr. President,' but 'excuse me, Aleksandar' and that he will be happy about the new bypass around Kragujevac and the fact that Stellantis in Kragujevac is perhaps the most successful Stellantis factory in the world.
