Serious accident: Train collides with car - mother and toddler injured

A serious accident occurred at an unguarded railway crossing in Pretzfeld, located in the Forchheim district of Bavaria, Germany. A regional train collided with a car carrying a 37-year-old mother and her one-year-old child.

The collision happened around 3:20 PM on a single-track line. The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation by the police. Following the crash, the train's route was temporarily suspended between Pretzfeld and Forchheim. Approximately 60 passengers on board the train were accommodated with a rail replacement bus service to continue their journey.

Both the mother and her young child sustained severe injuries and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The incident highlights the persistent dangers associated with unguarded railway crossings, which continue to be sites of severe accidents.
