Sertung incumbent Fairuz faces three-way race, vows positive campaign

Mohd Fairuz Mohd. Isa, the incumbent for the Serting state seat, is not underestimating the challenge of a three-way contest in the upcoming state election. As a Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate, he stressed the importance of facing the election with a healthy spirit, rejecting personal attacks as a campaign tactic.

Fairuz noted that his two challengers, from Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), are acquaintances, and he intends to maintain good relations throughout the campaign period. "We compete healthily. I will not campaign to badmouth any individual; instead, we bring a positive campaign," he stated.

He expressed hope that Serting voters would support PN. Despite a short three-year term, Fairuz highlighted his achievements in infrastructure improvements, including upgrading drainage systems and deepening rivers and water channels. He aims to continue initiatives that benefit the public, such as resolving frequent water supply disruptions in Felda areas and expanding opportunities for youth.

Fairuz acknowledged that plans are in place but emphasized the need for a mandate first. He prefers not to make excessive promises, believing voters will ultimately judge based on performance. His primary goal, alongside Barisan Nasional (BN), is to secure enough seats to form the state government in Negeri Sembilan. Fairuz faces competition from Yaacob Mahmood (Pakatan Harapan) and Muhammad Noraffendy Mohd. Salleh (Bersatu). He previously won the Serting seat with 10,312 votes.
