Several Indonesian Police Commissioner Generals to Retire This Year

Indonesia is preparing for the retirement of several high-ranking officials within the National Police (Polri) this year. A number of officers holding the rank of Commissioner General, equivalent to a three-star general, will reach the mandatory retirement age in 2026.

The recent revision of the Police Law introduced provisions for extending the service age for certain personnel. Specifically, a one-year extension is granted to members born in 1969. This means that officers born in 1968, who will turn 58 in 2026, are subject to mandatory retirement.

Among the prominent figures expected to retire are Komjen Karyoto, the Head of the Maritime Security Agency (Kabaharkam), and Komjen Fadil Imran, the Assistant for Operations (Astamaops). Both Karyoto and Imran were born in 1968, with Karyoto's birthday on October 27 and Imran's on August 14. Their respective birthdays this year will mark their 58th birthdays, triggering their retirement.

Additionally, the Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Dedi Prasetyo, also born in 1968 (July 26), was expected to retire. However, reports indicate that Prasetyo may receive a one-year service extension through a Presidential Decree. The exact number and identities of all retiring Komjen-level officers are subject to official announcements and potential service extensions.
