Severe Weather Warning Issued for Nine Malaysian States, KL, and Putrajaya

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a severe weather warning affecting nine states, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. Residents in these areas are advised to prepare for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds, with the adverse conditions expected to persist until 7 PM today.

The warning encompasses a wide geographical area. In Perak, the affected districts include Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim. Along the East Coast, Kelantan's Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, and Pasir Puteh are under the warning, as are Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, and Kemaman in Terengganu.

Further inland, Pahang's Raub, Bentong, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin are included, while in Negeri Sembilan, Jelebu and Seremban are alerted. The entire state of Selangor, along with the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, are also under the severe weather advisory. In Johor, the warning applies to Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, and Pontian.

In East Malaysia, Sarawak's affected divisions are Betong (Saratok and Kabong), Sarikei, Sibu (Kanowit), Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro), Kapit (Song), Miri (Beluru and Telang Usan), and Limbang. Sabah's affected areas include the Interior Division (Tambunan) and parts of the West Coast and Kudat, specifically Kota Marudu.
