Sheikha Bodour accepts patronage of Magdi Yacoub Institute

Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park and President of the American University of Sharjah, has formally accepted the patronage of the Magdi Yacoub Institute. This marks a significant step in the growing collaboration between Sharjah and the UK-based institute, a world leader in cardiovascular research.

The patronage, bestowed during a visit to the Magdi Yacoub Institute Heart Science Centre in Harefield, United Kingdom, is founded on a shared commitment to advancing scientific discovery, regenerative cardiac medicine, and international research cooperation. It highlights Sharjah's increasing dedication to fostering global innovation that yields tangible benefits for humankind.

During her visit, Sheikha Bodour was welcomed by Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, the institute's founder and director. She was accompanied by Hussain Al Mahmoudi, Chief Executive of SPARK. The agreement underscores a mutual drive to push the boundaries of cardiac science and improve patient outcomes worldwide.
