Shettima submits Tinubu’s APC nomination forms

In a significant move signaling President Bola Tinubu's intent for a second term, Vice President Kashim Shettima formally submitted the nomination and expression of interest forms to the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). This action, taken ahead of the 2027 election, underscores the ruling party's early preparations and confidence in its incumbent leader.

Speaking at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Shettima presented the forms as "priceless," emphasizing that this step signifies Tinubu's readiness to lead Nigeria for another four years. He rallied party stakeholders, including governors, members of the National Assembly, and other APC officials, to rally behind the President's re-election campaign. The Vice President pointed to the administration's 'Renewed Hope Agenda' as evidence of Tinubu's capacity to navigate Nigeria's economic and social challenges, positioning these achievements as a strong foundation for continued leadership.

The process was initiated earlier when James Faleke, representing the Ikeja Federal Constituency and founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, obtained the forms on behalf of the President. The subsequent submission by the Vice President marks a formal commencement of the re-election bid, with the procurement of the N100 million forms solidifying the party's commitment.

This development highlights the internal dynamics of the APC as it gears up for the next electoral cycle.
