Singer María José breaks from external expectations on upcoming album 'Alma de mujer'

Mexican singer María José is embarking on a new artistic chapter with her upcoming album, 'Alma de mujer,' slated for release in March 2027. After more than two years of dedicated work, the project is designed to capture her current experiences as a woman and an artist, prioritizing her own aspirations over external pressures.

"The album is a radiography of what I am living as a woman and artist," stated the singer, known as La Josa, during a press conference in Mexico City. She expressed a desire to launch the album on March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day. This album marks a significant point in her career, following over three decades in the industry and nearly two as a solo artist.

The new album will complement her ongoing 'Ahora o nunca' tour, for which she recently added two new performances on December 10 and 11 at the prestigious National Auditorium in Mexico City. Fans attending these shows will get a preview of 'Alma de mujer' alongside her career-defining hits like ‘Prefiero ser su amante’ and ‘No soy una señora’.

These December concerts will mark María José's thirtieth appearance at the National Auditorium, a venue she considers a second home. The 'Ahora o nunca' tour features a revamped show with updated audiovisual production and new musical arrangements, blending recent releases with her most popular songs. The tour has already graced various Mexican venues, including the Palacio de los Deportes in the capital, and extended to the United States with performances in Los Angeles, Miami, and Chicago.

María José began her musical journey in 1992 as part of the popular 1990s Mexican pop group Kabah, before launching her solo career in 2007. Her solo work has primarily focused on pop and ballad genres, with numerous performances at major venues across Mexico. Currently, as she finalizes 'Alma de mujer,' María José feels she is in a phase where her personal perspective on life and music holds more weight than external expectations.
