Singer Ziana Zain Awarded Datuk Title

Kuala Lumpur: Renowned Malaysian singer Ziana Zain, 58, has been honored with the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka, a prestigious award that grants her the title of Datuk.

The investiture ceremony took place at the Seri Negeri Palace in Melaka, as part of the state's awards and honors ceremony celebrating the 77th birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka, Mohd. Ali Mohd. Rustam.

Ziana Zain was one of 189 individuals to receive the D.P.S.M. award, with recipients hailing from diverse fields such as public service, politics, corporate sectors, and the arts. Her journey in the entertainment industry began in the late 1980s, and she rose to prominence with the release of her debut album, "Madah Berhelah," in December 1991. Her vocal talents earned her accolades, including the Voice of Asia championship in Kazakhstan, recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records.

Throughout her career, Ziana Zain has released six albums, including "Madah Berhelah" (1991), "Ziana Zain" (1993), "Setia Ku Di Sini" (1995), and "Puncak Kasih" (1997). Beyond her singing career, she has also made a mark in acting, appearing in films such as "Sembilu" (1994), "Maria Mariana" (1996), "Merah" (1996), "Pontianak Menjerit" (2005), and "Magika" (2010). Her television acting credits include "Mak Cun 4" (2018), "Janda Kosmopolitan" (2020), and "Histeria The Series" (2022).
