Six Airlines Apply to Operate at Bandung's Husein Sastranegara Airport

Six airlines have officially submitted applications to operate at Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, West Java, signaling a significant step in the airport's optimization program. InJourney Airports, the airport operator, confirmed that these airlines intend to serve both domestic and international routes.

The move follows InJourney Airports' presentation of its operational and service plans for Husein Sastranegara. The six airlines expressing interest are Citilink, Super Air Jet, Garuda Indonesia, Transnusa, Scoot, and Wings Air. Their proposed routes cover destinations such as Kualanamu, Denpasar, Surabaya, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, among others.

Arie Ahsanurrohim, Corporate Secretary Group Head at InJourney Airports, stated that the company will manage and ensure the availability of flight slots to accommodate the airlines' requests, aligning with the airport's capacity. "We hope the flight connectivity of Husein Sastranegara Airport can fully support the economic and tourism growth in West Java and Bandung City in particular," Arie said.

InJourney Airports is coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure the optimization proceeds smoothly and on schedule, allowing the airport to resume serving jet aircraft flights soon. Preparations include enhancing safety and security facilities, such as emergency response vehicles and screening checkpoints, as well as upgrading the runway, taxiway, and apron to support increased operations.
