Six hotels win top animal welfare awards in Ghana

The Animal Welfare League (AWL), a non-profit organization advocating for improved animal welfare standards, has honored six hotels in Ghana. These establishments were recognized for their significant efforts in adopting ethical practices concerning egg sourcing and the treatment of laying hens.

The awarded hotels include Ibis Styles Accra Airport Hotel, Accra City Hotel, Oak Plaza Hotel, and African Regent Hotel, among others. Their commitment is demonstrated through leadership in sourcing cage-free eggs, a practice that signifies a move away from traditional battery cage systems.

By promoting the ethical treatment of egg-laying hens, these hotels are setting a benchmark for the hospitality industry in Ghana.
