Ghanaian District Assembly Donates 887 School Desks to Improve Learning Environment

The Mion District Assembly in Ghana's Northern Region has taken a significant step to enhance the educational environment by donating 887 school desks to public basic schools. The handover ceremony, held in Sang, saw District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Hamza Azindoo Moabalyn present the furniture to officials from the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Mr. Moabalyn stated that this gesture is part of the government's broader agenda to strengthen crucial sectors, with education being a top priority. He emphasized that providing adequate seating is not merely about furniture but about restoring dignity in classrooms and fostering a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning. The intervention directly addresses the persistent problem of furniture shortages that have hampered pupils' ability to learn in many schools across the district.

Mr. Mohammed Amin Dawuda, the Mion District Director of Education, expressed his profound gratitude for the timely support. He noted that the donation would significantly alleviate the furniture deficit and positively impact learning outcomes. Mr. Dawuda highlighted the initiative as a clear demonstration of the government's commitment to bolstering basic education at the grassroots level.
