Stavros Georgiou: Murdered Lawyer's 16-Year-Old Twin Daughters Visit Police HQ, Want to See Father's Killer

The 16-year-old twin daughters of the recently murdered lawyer Stavros Georgiou visited the General Police Directorate of Attica (GADA) in Athens. According to reports from Star TV's main news bulletin, the teenagers expressed a desire to see the man accused of killing their father, even if only from a distance.

Also present at the police headquarters was Georgiou's brother, who requested to personally collect the deceased lawyer's belongings. The family is expected to hire a lawyer to formally join the prosecution's case as a civil party.

The investigation into Georgiou's death progressed rapidly, with homicide detectives identifying and apprehending a 28-year-old Egyptian national within 24 hours. Authorities pieced together the victim's final movements, utilizing witness testimonies, fingerprint evidence, and security camera footage to identify the suspect, who was apprehended in central Athens.

Investigators believe the fatal altercation occurred after Georgiou offered the suspect a ride home from a bar. They reportedly made a stop at a restaurant before proceeding to Georgiou's office. After dropping the suspect off near his apartment building, Georgiou went to park his car. The two men then went up to the office, where a violent argument erupted, leading to the fatal assault.

Evidence suggests the suspect attacked Georgiou with extreme brutality, using punches and kicks, and possibly striking his head against a wall. Following the murder, the suspect allegedly stole personal items, including Georgiou's mobile phone, wallet, and a gold cross, which have not yet been recovered. The suspect reportedly claims he only took the lawyer's laptop, which he sold for 50 euros. He later sought medical attention for an injured hand, which authorities believe he sustained during the attack, giving false information to hospital staff.
