Street fight in Mardin hospitalizes 8, leads to 9 arrests

A street brawl in Turkey's Mardin province has resulted in multiple injuries and arrests, with the conflict spilling over into a hospital. The incident began in the Atatürk neighborhood when a dispute between two families escalated rapidly into a physical confrontation involving stones and clubs.

Eight individuals sustained injuries during the initial fight: F.T. (29), Ö.F.M. (16), T.S. (38), A.S. (18), O.S. (40), Ö.T. (24), B.M. (39), and M.T. (31). Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and the injured were transported by ambulance to Kızıltepe State Hospital for treatment.

However, the violence did not end at the hospital. As relatives of the injured gathered at Kızıltepe State Hospital, a second altercation broke out between the opposing sides. Hospital police and gendarmerie forces intervened to separate the groups, reportedly with difficulty. Nine people were taken into custody following the events, and riot police were deployed to maintain security at and around the hospital.

Authorities have reported that the injured individuals are not in life-threatening condition, and an investigation into the incident has been launched. The exact cause of the initial dispute between the families remains unknown.
